After reaching Logan pass I decided to get back on the Great Divide Route so I pedaled to Columbus Falls. New Bike shop in town, Over the Top Mountain Bike who were so helpful. Father and son team who hooked me up with Dave.
Dave and Jane were so kind to rejuvenate me. Shower, clothes wash and a place to sleep ... thanks Dave. Dave a life long bicyclist is enjoying retirement and focused on empowering Guatemalan communities by making pedal powered machines from old bike. Also working on a program to teach the Guatemalan women to produce a unique line of bicycle bags. It great how Dave is giving back. Married 46 year, Jane also plays a role in the partnership. Happy Birthday Dave!

After Climbing Logan Pass yesterday, I was glad today was somewhat of a level ride. One significant climb but rewarded with a descend of 8 miles of smooth gravel and lots of s turns.

Stopped by to visit Tom who lives right on the route and offered to host me last night, 9 miles outside of town. Very interesting guy.  Bicycle frame builder, builds cafe motorcycles and has a barn full other project. He’s fully up to speed on the Tour Divide race which is underway now.

Swim tonight in Swan Lake, cold but not glacial cold.

Met up with a new crew that are pedaling south bound to Mexico. Travis, a medical student from Washington state, Peter, studying to be a chiropractor and Lilly from Washington DC who is a teacher. Interesting to here how there ride has been going and what there expectations are. Fun group and looking forward to spending time with them.
